hi! today i'm gonna try to rank my top 5 favorite ships in wjsn and as someone who has always been a big multi-shipper this is going to be hard as hell but... oh well. please keep in mind that these are just my favorites and that if a ship is not in my top five it doesn't mean i don't like it. tbh this ranking is only valid for now (may 11 2021) because i'm insane and get obsessed with a different wjsn ship every week... anyways. let's do this!

1. seola/exy

ha. where do i even begin with these two. imagine you meet someone when you're 14/15 > think you're going to debut together as the maknae line > the group never debuts > you leave that agency > you join another agency together > end up debuting together as the leader and the oldest of the group. ???????? it drives me crazy every single time. everyone that knows me knows i'm a 2JUNGIST and you're all probably tired of me screaming about the same 2jung moments over and over again but i just... can't get enough of them? 

my story with wjsn ships is kinda wild because, well, there's a lot of members and i'm weak. and by weak i mean my #1 ship changed a lot of times in 2016/2017. i remember liking boxuan rip a lot in the beginning, then i became a Seola Stan like a week after their debut and boom secret era seolbin happened and i was obsessed with them. if you know you KNOW. yes, i liked 2jung in 2016 too, but i was focused on other ships at that time. then 2017 happened???

i became a sojung stan during i wish era, jan 2017. and the thing about me is that i'll always, always find a way to ship my biases. cue chu sojung obsession + sojung becoming an ult + 2jung madness. 2017 was also the year where 2jung's iconic segment called wujukebox started and... well. everytime they announce there will be a new wujukebox vlive i fear for my sanity because i know i will lose my shit. 

2jung moments that live in my mind rent free: 2016, wjsn made a fansign in busan (sojung's hometown), sojung saw her mom and started crying and hyunjung was crying a lot too in the background. pre-debut, hyunjung used to fight a lot with her mom and would run away to sojung's home. there was a time she spent a month living with sojung. 2020, hyunjung to sojung: "exy, sojungie, rapper ♥ don't worry, don't be anxious or hesitate and live happily and positively ♥ even when we're grandmothers, let's continue to talk and gossip while peeling garlic.. ♥"

i'll stop here because this is getting TOO BIG and it made me realize that i should simply make a post just for 2jung thoughts because they're by far the ship i have the most to say. 

2. dawon/yeonjung

#tfw the ship you started to ship out of spite becomes one of your all time faves? i can't make this shit up. this is literally what happened. 

2016, yeonjung joined wjsn and it was a NIGHTMARE for me as a yeonjung stan since produce 101 because 1. i had to see wjsn stans in my tl angry that she was joining the group 2. had to see ioi stans angry that she was going to join wjsn. i feel like most people don't even remember the mess that that day was anymore but I DO. of course, things got better as time went by and all that, but there were always some annoying bitches trying to pit dawon and yeonjung against each other because they're both main vocals and i said you know WHAT? *ships yeonwon out of spite*

and then it got too real. at least for me it did. i'm used to being the only person shipping any non-99z yeonjung ship and that's FINE *wipes tear* but yeonwon really has me in a chokehold. and now that we have chocome, the black that means that YEONWON UNIT 2022 IS REAL (starship i swear to god if you don't give me this unit... i swear to god.) which means i NEVER LOSE <3

i love how yeonjung is such a mature maknae (chungha talking about yeonjung doesn't really act her age) but she's such a baby when she's with dawon and that makes me so soft and just so so happy. they were at their softness peak during boogie up era (1, 2) and sound impossibly good together (1, 2, 3). a yeonwon moment that i like is when dawon asked to marry yeonjung and pretended a piece of cabbage was a bouquet lmao?? and all the 182346783 moments where dawon was resting her head on yeonjung's shoulder <3

3. exy/soobin

exbin are wjsn's resident chaotic duo. and that's a lot considering 90% of wjsn ships are based on nothing but chaos, but these two somehow managed to grab the number one spot. 

somewhere between my seolbin obsession and switch to 2jungism i became a sweet unit (aka 2jungbin) stan and that's when exbin started to grow on me. back in 2017 they weren't as chaotic as they are now (or at least i didn't notice) but then 2018 happened and shit got crazy. i still remember watching their little smsy era idol room vlive and cracking up at exbin's part and thinking "i like this so much?????" and i've been an exbinist ever since. 

exbin moments i like: all of their college classmates (2018-2019) moments?? like that shit was SO funny i still can't believe it was real. sojung calling soobin crying over the fact that she fucked up her college paper and soobin just LAUGHING AT HER??? sojung falling in front of the entire class and once again miss park devil just cracking up??? but one exbin moment that i'll always carry in my heart was when wjsn were playing a dating (?) game in a variety show and soobin ranked last, so to make soobin feel better sojung said that out of all of them she would date soobin?? that was so cute?? until of course soobin ruined everything saying she wouldn't date sojung ANYWAYS this thread is the perfect place to go when you want to see some Good exbin moments.

4. seola/soobin

oh boy do i have a lot of memories with this ship LMAO. you can check this entire account to understand what i mean. yeah, that account is mine.

back in 2016 hyunjung ships weren't that popular (and hyunjung herself wasn't that popular until secret dropped, oh how things have changed) so when seolbin started to act the way they do during secret era fansigns i was just LIVING MY BEST LIFE?? finally a ship with my ult bias! and i still have so many fond memories of that time (like hyunjung noticing me during seolbin's first vlive together?? T___T)  they really made me the happiest 16yo in the world.

the beautiful thing about seolbin is that we saw their relationship develop in front of our eyes? soobin wasn't close to hyunjung in their pre-debut days (she used to spend most of her time with sojung and jiyeon aka the iconic exseolbo pre-debut trio) but then they just... clicked after their debut? and now they're literally each other's everything. how can i not love this? even the members joke about how close they are (throwback to wjsn being like "ah shit here we go again" when hyunjung revealed soobin was her manito, throwback to hyunjung saying she sends soobin pics to her family's group chat??), it's almost like one doesn't exist without the other. 

last year i was more into other hyunjung ships but they're pulling me by the hair this year?? seolbin please let me live. i got so emotional seeing how much they missed each other during the 2020 hiatus (esp because they live in different dorms) and things got worse when i saw this and felt all the seolbin insanity from 2016-2017 flooding my brain at once. they have way too many moments for me to mention here, might be the wjsn ship with the most content ever??? but here's a tweet i've been thinking about a lot and also this???? what the fuck. they are literally #married

5. exy/yeonjung

remember the thing i said about me being the only person that cares about non-99z yeonjung ships? remember the thing i said about always finding a way to ship my biases? yeah. this intensifies here. 

they've always been very close and i think the fact that they're always hanging out with the same people (yeonjung being a pd101 contestant/ioi member + sojung being friends with every 95 liner ever/any gg member that breathes near her) helped a lot. i am once again going to bring back chungha talking about how yeonjung doesn't really act her age which SHOWS when you think about how close yeonjung is to idols older than her? they aren't like every other leader/maknae dynamic you see in other groups, these two just really feel like... friends? other than the usual "leader takes care of the maknae" etc etc and i think that's what i like so much about them.

part of my love for this duo comes from the fact that i’m your resident #chu_sojung_lover and #yoo_yeonjung_lover but these two have a lot of great moments? especially during unnatural era (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 + 8, 9) like wow, they really did it for me this time. they remind me of a less blatantly affectionate (??? i don't know how to describe it better sorry T_T) version of gahsing because of the “i have a crush on my best friend’s older sister” + himbo 95 liner/menace 99 liner vibez they exude <3

final thoughts: this was so hard to do my brain is literally friend rn. i suck at explaining things because my brain is literally like this meme but i hope this was nice? i’m not lying when i say every wjsn combo has a place in my heart because, seriously, i love these girls more than anything. i’ll def try to make a post sharing my thoughts on every ship (even though it’s over 40 ships?!?!?? help???) later this year. thanks for reading!
